During sign-up, you'll be asked to enter your university email address (.edu or institution domain). We'll send a verification link to confirm you're a current student.

Can I sell items on Nexa?

Absolutely! Once verified, you can list textbooks, electronics, furniture, clothing, and more. All transactions happen within your trusted campus community.

Is Nexa available at my university?

Nexa Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines describe acceptable behavior and content on the Nexa platform and represent our expectations for how students interact, share, and engage. Nexa is a place for respectful, safe, and meaningful connections, discussion, and exploration — by and for university students worldwide.

At Nexa, we believe in:

Respect: Treat others kindly and courteously.
Safety: Create a space that protects mental and physical well-being.
Trust: Uphold authenticity and honesty in interactions.
Inclusivity: Welcome diverse perspectives and backgrounds.

These principles guide how we evaluate content and behavior. When in doubt, treat others as you would like to be treated.

RESPECTFUL INTERACTION

Users should:

✔ Communicate respectfully and constructively
✔ Engage in discussions without personal attacks
✔ Respect differences of opinion, identity, and background

Users must not:

❌ Harass, insult, demean, or threaten others
❌ Use discriminatory language targeting race, gender, sexuality, religion, ethnicity, disability, or other protected characteristics

SAFETY AND WELL-BEING

3.1 Harmful Conduct

Nexa does not tolerate content that:

Encourages self-harm or suicide
Promotes violence, threats, or harm toward others
Depicts or glorifies violent or graphic injuries in a way that is harmful

If you or someone you know is in danger, seek professional help immediately. Nexa may remove or restrict content that risks harm.

3.2 Sensitive Topics

Educational, academic, or contextual discussion of sensitive topics (e.g., mental health, historical violence, societal issues) is permitted if it does not promote, glorify, trivialize, or sensationalize harm. Content used for learning, awareness, or support should be framed constructively.

MATURE CONTENT RESTRICTIONS

Aligned with safe community standards and student-focused policies:

Strictly prohibited:

❌ Graphic sexual content or pornography
❌ Explicit nudity not contextualized in a clear educational or academic setting
❌ Sexual exploitation, trafficking, or any predatory behavior

Allowed with context (educational/academic/health-focused):

✔ Health and anatomy discussions
✔ Campus wellness and safety education
✔ Historical or cultural discourse involving sensitive subject matter

When posting sensitive content for academic purposes, provide clear context and avoid explicit or exploitative imagery.

ACCURACY, AUTHENTICITY & MISINFORMATION

Nexa encourages informed dialogue, not misleading information.

Users should:

✔ Share information that is accurate and sourced
✔ Clarify personal opinions as opinions

Users must not:

❌ Spread false or misleading claims
❌ Manipulate or fabricate facts to deceive others

Content that spreads misinformation may be removed.

PRIVACY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION

Respect others' privacy:

❌ Do not share personal information about others without consent
❌ Refrain from exposing contact details, addresses, IDs, or other private data
❌ Respect that users control their own identity and personal information

If personal data is shared without permission, Nexa may remove it and take action.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & ORIGINALITY

Users should:

✔ Post content they have created or have permission to share
✔ Attribute third-party content properly

Users must not:

❌ Share copyrighted material without rights
❌ Claim others' work as their own

Infringing content may be removed.

AUTHENTIC INTERACTIONS

Nexa promotes genuine engagements:

✔ Participate honestly
✔ Avoid misleading profiles or identities

Users must not:

❌ Impersonate others
❌ Use bots, fake accounts, or automation to mislead or game the system

PROHIBITED AND ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR

Prohibited behaviors include, but are not limited to:

Hate speech
Harassment or bullying
Impersonation
Coordinated attacks
Threats or intimidation
Spam, scams, or unsolicited promotions

This list is not exhaustive. Nexa may act on conduct that threatens the community even if not specified.

REPORTING & ENFORCEMENT

If you see content that violates these Guidelines:

👉 Use Nexa's in-app reporting tools
👉 Provide any context that may help moderators assess the issue
👉 Do not take retaliatory actions outside the platform

Nexa moderators will review reports and may:

Warn the user
Remove violating content
Suspend or ban accounts engaging in repeated violations

Enforcement is designed to be fair and consistent.

WHY THESE RULES MATTER

These Guidelines exist to protect your experience and the experience of others. They help build trust, welcomeness, and meaning on a campus-centric platform.

Being a student network, we take conduct seriously and may act independently of legal obligations to protect the community.

CHANGES TO GUIDELINES

We may update these Guidelines over time to respond to community needs or safety concerns. Material changes will be posted with an updated “Last Updated” date.
